The examination unit act as the academic supporting unit, works directly under the supervision of the polytechnic director and academic vice director. For a polytechnic, the examination unit holds the responsibilities of planning, managing, and implementing all activities that correlates with organizing and managing all matters pertaining to examination and certification conducts. The unit also handles all of the students’ evaluation based on the outlines and evaluation rules stated. This unit has been given responsibilities to ensure that all aspects in connection to giving guidelines about teaching and learning, evaluating, controlling, and invigilating examination is taken care of, apart of its priority in handling and producing students results from the polytechnic examination committee. In addition, this unit also in charge to give out certificates to graduated students, students who passed all examinations, and those who fulfilled the required tasks of his or her course after being approved by the Lembaga Penganugerahan Sijil/Diploma Politeknik Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia. The Examination Unit is lead by one Head of Unit and two examination officers appointed by the Polytechnic management section. The unit is then assisted by several departments’ examination officers appointed throughout all academic departments in the polytechnic. One executive officer and a clerk are also assigned in the unit to manage all clerical tasks. This is to ensure the Examination Unit can perform and manage all its assigned tasks successfully. THE POLYTECHNIC EXAMINATION COMITTEE The polytechnic examination committee is the highest forum of the polytechnic division which received its order directly from The Board of Examination and Penganugerahan Sijil/Diploma Politeknik Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia. The Comittee main task is to verify examination results (excluding final semester result) and to make sure all rules and regulations for evaluation are abided. The Committee is chaired by the Director of polytechnic himself with the assistance from all Head of Academic Departments, Examination officers, and those appointed by the Director. VISION A unit which could manage all of the examination activities and businesses in a professional ways, with integrity and credibility towards its customers abiding the examination instructions and evaluation methods of kptm by the year 2013 MISSION To develop and manage an effective administrative system which focus on job competencey and success. TASK DESCRIPTIONS - To determine and implement whatever principles needed concerning the examination activities is aligned with those tabled in the “Arahan-Arahan Peperiksaan Dan kaedah Penilaian Politeknik Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia”.
- To ensure the examination instructions and evaluating methods by the Politeknik Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia are abided.
- Preparing the examination activities programme.
- To supervise and handle matters during the drafting and questions construction session.
- To prepare a set of questions for the students final examination.
- To ensure all examination questions are controlled and kept in secured vicinity.
- Preparing the Final Examination Schedule.
- Preparing the Final Examination Invigilators Schedule.
- To handle and manage the Question Bank storage.
- To process students’ examination results.
- To decide on students’ performance derived from the examination committee.
- To inform students of their examination results.
- To prepare and distribute students’ result slips.
- To make a report, Allocation of Marks and any relevant document to be presented during the Examination Committee meeting.

- To prepare the list of students who passed the final examination.
- To make and register students’ certificates and diplomas.
- To produce a statistics for each current final examination.
