INTRODUCTION Training and Continuing Education is a unit lead by both Director of Polytechnic as well as Academic Support Deputy Director. This unit involves in activities pertaining to trainings/ courses in service and continuing education of staff, of which are later hoped to give adequate trainings and skills needed by staff in order to ensure teaching and learning process is done effectively. Activities managed by this unit cover all departments and units. The implementation of all activities is helped by appointed committees from every department. These committees also act as department’s program coordinator. VISION Training and Continuing Education Unit is the main body who plans, executes and provides effective trainings in producing outstanding and skillful human capital, both technical and administrative, towards the excellence of polytechnics. MISION Training and Continuing Education Unit is very committed in managing trainings for staff respectively, systematically and effectively. This is to produce quality personnel towards the excellence of management and education by 2012. CLIENTS’ CHARTER Training and Continuing Education is responsible in giving trainings to all PSMZA staff towards the excellence of management and education. To achieve this, this unit: · Ensures all staff go for training at least 7 days per year. · Gives appropriate consideration and distribution pertaining to trainings needed. · Gives staff equal opportunities to get trained. · Choose participants for trainings. QUALITY BASE Improve lecturers’ skills with latest knowledge and technology development. Also, boost personnel strength, technical and trained management, efficient and proactive in achieving PSMZA’s necessity. OBJECTIVES Establishment Objective of Training and Continuing Education Unit and its responsibilities:- 1. Plan and execute in-house and outside trainings: - Ensure staff attends courses 7 days a year. 2. Plan and execute lecturers’ internship training programs to industries: - Send at least 2 staff for lecturers’ internship training. 3. Manage subscribed courses: - Provide subscribed courses to industries. 4. Manage part-time course (KSS) students: - Part –time course for Polytechnic Malaysia Certificate students. 5. Manage accommodation and facilities: - Accommodation rental, hall, workshop, seminar room and laboratory. 6. Human resource development: - Involves meetings of unit, courses, motivation, time management, inner strength and ULPL strategic meeting and family day. PROGRAM 1. PART-TIME COURSE (KSS) 2.
